An impressive amalgamation of over 25 native Portuguese grapes, both of the red and white variety of nearly equal quantities. This is a young, bright red - vaguely reminiscent of a Pinot Noir - bursting with flavors of deep plum and red berries finishing with a dazzling acidity that leaves you begging for one last sip! Best enjoyed lightly chilled.
Establishing his label in 2007, Tiago Sampaio is an advocate for sustainable viticulture and the production of natural wines in the Douro region. His vines are located in Alto Douro, in the sub-region of Cima-Corgo, on a plateau at the top of slopes of schist and granite at a high altitude between 500-700m. Tiago is bridging the traditions of his homeland with learned modern aesthetics, creating field blends of both red, white and mixed from indigenous varietals planted some 80 years ago. Tiago has set his sights higher, pushing the boundaries of his curiosity and what some might not expect out of such a traditional region.
