The Rakete is as red as a racecar! And you'll drink it with speed! Sharp notes of cranberry, raspberry, sea buckthorn and cumin spice mingle with red hibiscus and wild strawberries - this is a vibrant, juicy rosé to enjoy in the sun or with friends at the dinner table!
Zweigelt, Sankt Laurent, Blauburger, and a grab bag of white grapes from one of the few Roter (red) Gemischter Satz vineyards remaining within Vienna (in the 19th District) on the Kahlenberg, which boasts dry sandstone soils. The grapes macerate for four days, whole cluster, and age in stainless steel tank. The wine is unfined and unfiltered; Jutta & Marco advise to gently shake/invert the bottle before serving, to distribute the fine lees.
In 2004, Jutta Ambrositsch decided to give up her position as an Art Director in an advertising agency in exchange for time in the vineyard. Actually, this happened quite spontaneously. Half an acre of Riesling vines was quickly leased. The positive results at the end of the year confirmed that she made the right decision. In the Viennese vinyards, situated on both sides of the river Danube, Gruener Veltliner, Riesling, Gemischter Satz, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated. Another vineyard with four different red varietals completes the portfolio. Cultivation has been implemented according to the environmentally friendly Lutte Raisonnée-Principle – herbicides, insecticides and fungicides are refrained from; green manuring takes place in all these vineyards.
