We are big fans of Marie and Vincent's way of spelling 'Pino Nwar' just like a 15 year old emo kid would have on their Myspace page back in the day. Along with a light and perfumed body this wine is as complex as a young emo thinks they are.
Les Trois Bonhommes is made from grapes harvested by hand, destemmed, and fermented spontaneously with indigenous yeast, then aged for 12 months in wooden casks.
Vincent and Marie had worked in Beaujolais in the 1990s and were heavily influenced by the work of Jules Chauvet, Marcel Lapierre et al. In a quest for the terroir and vines with which to work in this same spirit, they moved to the Auvergne in 2002. They started off with 4.5 hectares and over the years have planted another 5 or so. They have plots of Gamay d’Auvergne, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Muscat from which they make some truly incredible wines.
