Misia is gentle and bright, with a lovely minerality and some big citrus notes - grapefruit, tangerine and even juicy pomegranate are just a few of the enticing flavours to be found here. Vinified with Garganega, Trebbiao and Tocai grapes planted in marine glacial soil and morinic sediment. The wine is fermented spontaneously with native yeast, 3 days of maceration on skin in fiberglass tanks. Unfiltered, no added sulfites, no added yeast and no chemical products - this is natural winemaking in its purest form.
Vini Sassara is a new project from longtime natural winemakers Alessia and Stefano Bertaiola, situated just outside Verona, in the Morainic Hills near Lake Garda. Together they farm a 10-hectare site that has been in Stefano’s family for 50 years. This is Bardolino country, a DOC in the Veneto region most famous for its Valpolicella-style light reds and rosé wines, but Alessia and Stefano have instead set out to show what the indigenous grapes and terroir are capable of when allowed to express themselves naturally.
