The wines from Microbodega Alumbro, situated in the old “land of vines” in Zamora, are known for their purity and sincerity. Juan Jose has been producing organic, natural wines long before their renewed renaissance; he is involved and oversees all aspects of cultivation and winemaking, tunnelling his experience, talent and passion into each bottle – these are truly singular wines. The Alumbro Blanco is made from a blend of three local white varieties (Chasselas/Godello/Verdejo) that co-ferment in stainless steel tanks and finished in barrels. The vines are over 110 years old and produce a low yield that is marvellously concentrated. The sip is electrifying, alive with great energy and tension and is marvellously balanced.
