Grapes: Sangiovese, Ciliegio Style: Still, Red ABV: 12% Production: Biodynamic Any added sulphites: No Filtered: No
A very easy to drink crisp medium bodied red wine. This wine has fun hints of cherry and red pepper, together with alluring smokey and spicy aromas and some acidity, it’ll leave you wanting more!
These grapes are grown on biodynamic land, then macerated for 4 days with the skins, decorating the flavour with tannins. It then ages in fiberglaass tanks for 6 months, with no added sulphites, so you won’t wake up with a headache. Impromptu fermentation occurs in the barrels and to make it even more exciting, fermentation continues on its own when bottled.
Della Staffa Litrò Rosso comes from a vineyard lying 250-300 metres above sea level with clay soils and limestone rock. These are ancient vines growing in a climate influenced by the nearby Lake Trasimeno. This estate is on the outskirts of Montemelino, in the Umbria region. Owned by the family of Danilo Marcucci’s wife, this winegrower found an opportunity here to apply his knowledge about natural wines and achieve the purest expression of the place.
