First off, who doesn't want a bottle sitting on their mantlepiece with one of the seven dwarfs (we think maybe Bashful with his pink cheeks) jumping out of a cake eating chocolate?
Not only does this bottle look great but whats inside tastes like heaven! The Ganache is made from whole bunches of Grenache, fermented for three weeks to create a wine packed with notes of black fruits, herbs, and pleasant dark chocolate-like bitterness to the finish. It's a highly original take on the grape.
Alice Bouvot of Domaine De L'Octavin trained in winemaking in Bordeaux and Burgundy but chose the Jura region as the home for her first cellar, and the couple of hectares of rolling hills as the backdrop for her vines. Her vineyard work is done by hand and is both fanatical and fantastic, with biodynamic farming used to great effect in retaining a real biodiversity in the vineyard. Now Alice harvests grapes at friends' properties all across France aiding her in making an exciting range of wines that we love!
