The most magnificent burst of flavours; this wine is intensely fragrant with aromas of honeysuckle, orange blossom, grapefruit and apricot emphasised by notes of citrus zest, wild herbs and very gentle tannins. Superbly complex and yet highly drinkable!
The depth of this wine is enhanced by its fermentation on skins for 10 months in terracotta Amphora. After fermentation, it is very lightly pressed.
After his time in the music industry, Adrian Pike decided to enter the world of winemaking. Shortly after graduating from Plumpton College he went to work at Davenport, where he learned importance of organic viticulture in England. In 2016 an opportunity came up to buy Westwell Wine Estate planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Ortega. Adrian is joined by viticulturist Marcus Goodwin who was at Davenport Vineyards for over 20 years. Westwell is tucked under the Pilgrim’s Way with flinty soils and free draining chalk bedrock. The rocky terroir brings a refreshing minerality to all their wines.
